Israel: The Influence of Religion on the State (PL)
28.06.2024 - 12:00 / JCC Krakow, ul. Miodowa 24Israel is a country of contrasts. In Tel Aviv one can meet mainly secular, modern Israelis, whereas Jerusalem is full of mostly Orthodox and deeply religious citizens of the Jewish state. They are the ones who in the last dozen or so years have had the most impact on the shape of today’s Israel. This can be seen in politics, economy, or culture. In the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, religious parties often tip the balance, because they’re the ones who decide on the coalition’s stability and the prime minister’s hold onto power.
