Schoolmates. Jews and Christians in Kraków Public Schools until 1914 (PL)
24.06.2024 - 11:00 / Galicia Jewish Museum, ul. Dajwór 18Before the First World War, the classrooms of most schools in Kraków and the surrounding areas were spaces where Jews and Christians met. This lecture will explore the relations between the students and the impact of their religious upbringing on their education. Were Jews and Christians friends? Were there religiously motivated conflicts? The lecture will be an attempt at answering these questions based on a variety of source materials: diaries, press, chronicles, minutes of teaching councils, and other school archival materials.
