24.06.2024 - 17:00 / Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory Museum, ul. Lipowa 4We would like to invite you to a meeting with Bartosz Heksel, author of the book “Żydowscy adwokaci w przedwojennym Krakowie” (Jewish Lawyers in Pre-War Kraków). The talk will be hosted by Justyna Nowicka.
The book is about lawyers of Jewish origin and the role they played in the interwar Kraków. It describes their social, political, cultural and academic work, as well as their contribution to the development of Polish and European legal thought. The picture is complemented by the stories of concrete people and their families, some of the well-known court cases in which they participated, as well as examples of the social life of the elites of that time, typical of the era. The publication also presents the fate of Kraków lawyers during and after the war. The book uses archival documents and is illustrated with photos and materials from museums or private collections, which have rarely or never been shown before.
